Version 4.0 or WikiCraft 4.0 was the fifth iteration of the WikiCraft server series released to users. 4.0 succeeded Version 3.0 as the primary edition of WikiCraft on June 14, 2020. 4.0 is fondly remembered by the community primarily for the tri-city collaboration of Skyhold, Kassôn and Kokomo, and the 4.0 logo remains iconic in Outrun Games lore. While fondly remembered, 4.0 was seen by some as an unnecessary update to the server series and some users were unhappy that the server was succeeding the acclaimed WikiCraft 3.0 server.
4.0 itself would be succeeded just over a year later by WikiCraft 5.0, though the tri-cities of Skyhold, Kasson and Kokomo live on in WC5, as they were imported directly into the WC5 overworld, Apus.
4.0 ran Spigot version 1.16.1 and was hosted in Buffalo, New York with BisectHosting. WikiCraft 4.0 was slated shut down on August 13, 2021, and was succeeded by WikiCraft 5.0.
